I am sorry to say that today is my final day at BRX. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ins and outs of the studio as well as some of you! It has been a joy to work with a lot of you and test out my workouts and develop my skills. Thank you for your patience! My life will now take me to Copenhagen, Denmark, and all over Europe for that matter, for the next five months. I am studying abroad for the semester and then will return to Gustavus Adolphus College to finish up my final semester of college! Crazy how fast that went! I know you will all be in good hands with the BRX staff and hope to pop in this winter to visit!
Keep being fabulous!
Hello to the BRX fitness fanatics that I know you all are! I’ll keep it short and sweet today so you can go back to enjoying this summer heat-hopefully on the lake! Two things are new to BRX this July. Starting today, July 1st, we have a brand new member’s rewards program. That’s right REWARDS! So what kind of rewards are we talking you ask? This program is point based and the more points you earn the more you get in BRX credit. Credit can be used on packages, memberships, clothing, anything in the store really. You can earn points by signing up for a class online and then coming to class, referring a new member, and on all purchases. Easy enough right? So that 10 class pack you buy for the month, that’s 3 points for every dollar you spend. Then come to class 10 times at 10 points each! Once you have 1,000 points or more you can redeem them for credit. 1,000 pts is the equivalent of $10. Sweet deal if you ask me!
BRX is also having a summer picnic and fun run! Running not your thing? No problem. Grab your roller blades, bike or even take a stroll around the lake. This will be held on Sunday July 19th at Cleary Lake Park. The fun run will start at 4:30pm, but we will be around from 4-7pm. We are providing hot dogs, beverages, and a good time! We ask you to come with your friends and family and bring a dish to share. I know you all will be home for the Music Fest so be sure to come relax and make dinner easy on yourself before you head back to work on Monday! If you need more convincing I may even watch your kids while they play at the park… Look for more updates on Facebook and in your email.
Hi everyone! My name is Kaitlin Bembenek and I am BRX’s intern for this summer. I’ll be posting on here throughout my time at the studio, and will keep you updated with the latest scoop. But first a little about myself!
My parents moved to Prior Lake 20 years ago with terrible 2-year-old me in hand. Much to my excitement I got a baby brother not long after! My brother Garrett and I grew up here and were involved in 4H and a variety of sports and activities. We both eventually came to the same conclusion that soccer and track were “our thing.” Although track always has been, and always will be my one true passion. After graduating from Prior Lake High School in 2011, I went on to study at the University of Minnesota. I was going to major in chemistry or nutrition, although I’m not sure how those are remotely similar. The sheer size of the U gave me the urge to look for something a little smaller. A year later I got a lot smaller! A good friend from high school ran track at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. My visit to the school and with the team went really well and I was gung-ho to transfer. So that brings me up to speed with the present. I will be a senior this year at Gustavus with Biology and Health Fitness majors. I run the 200m and 400m for the track team and am in a sorority that largely works with breast cancer philanthropies including the local Hope Chest based in Wayzata. This August I also have the pleasure of touring Norway, Ireland, and France with a good friend, and will continue on from there to study in Copenhagen, Denmark for the semester.
Before I head across the pond, I will hopefully get to know more of you BRX fitness goers. I will be designing and helping with the lunchtime circuit and open gym Monday through Friday, so please stop by and visit me! That’s all I have for now, so stop me and say hi next time you’re in for a workout 🙂
If you have not tried it, well it is about time! It is a fun mix of BUTI and Zumba, people really seem to like this combo. Join us at 10:00 AM this morning with Michele, she is back from vacation and ready to teach! 5:00 class is canceled today, normal schedule again tomorrow! Hope you all had a great 4th of July!
One special class today, join us for bodyshop at BRX fitness. Bodyshop is a class where the instructor ( Denise) can do whatever she wants. Sounds like a good time….right? Sorry…no outdoor bootcamp this week. Enjoy the Little things in life everyone, appreciate being healthy and being able to workout! All of us at BRX appreciate you too!
If you are in town, join us for a 8:00 am Bodyshop! Mary Gleason has graciously volunteered to teach this morning. Bodyshop is a class where the instructor can pretty much do whatever she wants. If you are around, come in and keep Mary company, she will appreciate it! Work out hard this morning, then you will be ready for the day to play!
Our motto today is: Work hard, Play hard!
The Summer Shape up Challenge ends tomorrow and we tested one of the participants early because she has next week off for the 4th, and she had awesome results! This is why we do these challenges! She did great with the weekly challenges and lost weight, and the weight she lost was 100% fat. This makes our job really fun, we love seeing good results.
She will be a contender 🙂 Remember to hand in your calendars!
Thank you everyone for participating, sometimes all we need is a little group motivation.
